Honlet Legum Arbitration is proud to partner with, and support, the 150th Anniversaries of the Institute of International Law and the International Law Association, two of the most prominent international law learned societies which were created within a few weeks from each other in 1873.
The session of the Institute of International Law marking the Anniversary of the Institute is taking place in Angers (France) from August 27 to September 2, 2023, while the one marking the Anniversary of the International Law Association took place in Paris (France) from June 18 to 20, 2023, with a day of conclusions to also take place on December 14, 2023.
Both learned societies were created in the wake the United States Civil War (1861-1865), the Franco-Prussian War (1870-1871) — and the seminal Alabama arbitration (1872).
